Richard Bertinet Cooking Demo
Join us at the Scott Arms on Saturday 18 July when we will be hosting a Richard Bertinet Cookery Demo outside at the Burger Shak from noon until 3pm.
Richard Bertinet is a renowned Breton-born baker and teacher based in Bath, Somerset. Widely celebrated as a master artisan baker and ‘real bread’ campaigner, Richard was acclaimed as a food champion by the BBC in 2010. Best known for his pioneering ‘Slap and Fold’ Dough technique, his top rated cookery school and his best selling books.
Richard will be coming to the Scott Arms at 12 noon on Saturday 18 July and will be hosting a Cooking Demo outside at the Shak, showing people how to work the dough and opening up the floor for any questions. There will be some audience participation and Richard will invite people from the crowd to ‘help’ him, it will be great fun and involve as many as we can. This will be for about 45 minutes. Richard will bring his Gozney oven with him.
There will also be a special Gin for you to try! Richard has been working closely with the expert distillers at Gloriette Artisan Gin in Dorset and together they have created something distinct and unique. Maria and Richard have infused a blend of juniper, schisandra berries, angelica, coriander and key botanicals along with Richard’s signature sourdough to deliver a distinctive blend of Gin with depth and character. With a pinch of je ne sais quoi this is a Gin to be savoured. Maria from Gloriette will also be present on the day, happy to answer your questions and of course offering tasters!
We will also be offering a bespoke dessert, with strawberries macerated in the gin, and special gin cocktails throughout the day.
This is set to be a lovely, fun and Gin infused day!
