Walk on the Wild Side
There are some fabulous walks in and around Kingston and you can really get a feel of the Purbeck landscape when you’re tramping around. There’s no better way to walk the dogs, tire out the kids and get the wind in your hair. And if you end up back at your favourite pub then everyone’s a winner!
We’ve put together a few circular walks that you can do from the Scott Arms, some easy, some more strenuous but all through some of the best scenery in Dorset. Through fields of crops and livestock, in and out of ancient woods, up and down valleys, along towering cliff tops and above sheltered bays, all the walks have breathtaking views and can be completed all year round.
Stick to the countryside code and you’ll be welcome back. So keep your dogs on leads when in fields with livestock, close gates behind you, take your litter/poo bags home, keep away from cliff edges, follow local signs, stick to marked paths and you should be fine. Some tracks can be muddy in winter and sometimes in summer so wear some decent shoes or boots.
