One of the Best Pub Beer Gardens in the UK
It’s official! As if it didn’t need reiterating, the Scott Arms has won an award for one of the UK’s top 50 best pub beer gardens. The awards were published in June by Muddy Stilletos, in an article entitled ‘Drink it in: 50+ jaw-dropping views from pub gardens we love’.
The Scott Arms was highlighted by Muddy Stilettos as having one of the best pub beer gardens for views, largely due to the magnificent views of Corfe Castle that can be seen from it. They wrote:
“You can see the ruins of the iconic Corfe Castle from the large garden, with a telescope on hand if you want to zoom in. The super laid-back pub serves up the usual pub grub with the added bonus of sizzling BBQ chicken, steak, brisket and prawns from the Shak every Saturday and Sunday from May to October.”
The listing also made it to the front page of the Dorset Echo which, as the only pub featured in the Muddy Stilettos article from Dorset, was high praise indeed.

Garden Refurbishment.
The pub beer garden has recently undergone a total refurbishment. Lovely new benches and seats have been installed. Paving and shingle pathways have been relaid and new shrubs and flowers have been planted to both add colour and to encourage local insects. A new Doggy Hydration Station has been installed so that your four-legged friends can refresh at the end of their walks .
And of course, The Shak is fired up during the summer months serving a range of freshly cooked barbequed and grilled chicken and prawns, grilled steak and brisket with salads, sides, dips and sauces. There really isn’t anything to beat sitting outside in the sun, drinking a cool lager or a refreshing pint of local cider. And while you bask in the gentle, warm sounds of summer, savour the aroma of freshly barbecued meats, chicken and seafood as they sizzle on the outdoor barbecues.

MUDDY STILETTOS
Muddy Stilettos first appeared in 2011 as a way for national lifestyle journalist Hero Brown (Independent on Sunday, The Observer, Red, Marie Claire, Elle) to find out and share the fun stuff to do in the local area, having moved out of London that summer to the Buckinghamshire/Oxfordshire borders with husband and baby son in tow.
Quickly Muddy Stilettos caught on locally as a witty, useful, tastefully curated and researched insider’s guide to the very best food, walks, boutiques, day trips, hotels, interiors and events for smart, fun-loving women living outside London. In January 2013 the site turned into a business, and nine years on, Muddy Stilettos has 1.2m monthly fans, nearly 275,000 subscribers, 250,000 social followers, and can now be found in 28 counties.
